VPN Connection for Windows 7

You can find all the basic, necessary steps, which must be done before you can connect to UP VPN network, at page with all the basic information regarding UP network. Please, continue only after finishing all the steps, or you will be unable to connect to the VPN properly. So, how to we set up the VPN?

Step 1 - Network and sharing center

Right-click the wireless connection button and choose Network and sharing center. When a new window opens up choose the Set up a new connection or networkoption.

Step 2 - Connect to a workplace

Set up connection or network window opens up. You should choose the Connect to a workplace option.

Step 3 - VPN

Choose Use my Internet connection (VPN) in the next window.

Step 4 - Fill in information

Fill in the IP address 158.194.254.9 into the Internet address box.

You can create any Destination name you want, we however recommend using UPOL or UPOL VPN, because this way you can identify the UP VPN network easily.

Now, enable the Do not connect now (...)option as we have to finish setting up the network specifications. Click the Nextbutton.

Step 5 - Login details

Enter your login details and the password you set up in Portal. Choose the Remember this passwordoption and accept every change by clicking the Createbutton.

Step 6 - Change of settings

Just as in step 1, right-click the wireless connection button and choose Network and sharing center. When a new window opens up choose Change adapter settingsoption.

Step 7 - Properties

You can find your newly created VPN in Network connections folder. Right-click the network and choose Properties.

Step 8 - "Security" tab

Check the IP address 158.194.254.9 in the General tab and move to the Security tab. Set up Data encryption and choose the Require encryption option. Next, choose Allow these protocols and enable protocol MS-CHAP v2 in the Authentication option. Then move to the Networking tab.

Krok 9 - Záložka "Sítě"

V záložce Sítě vyberte Protokol IP verze 4 (TCP/IPv4) a klikněte na Vlastnosti.

Krok 10 - Vlastnosti protokolu

V nastavení vlastností Protokolu IP verze 4 (TCP/IPv4) vyberte možnost Získat IP adresu ze serveru DHCP automaticky a poté klikněte na Použít následující adresy serveru DNS. Do kolonky Upřednostňovaný server DNS vložíme IP adresu 158.194.244.2. Vše poté jen dvakrát potvrdíme tlačítkem OK. Nyní se můžete přesunout k samotnému připojení k síti VPN.

Krok 11 - Připojení

Síť VPN aktivujete jednoduše. Klikneme na ikonku bezdrátových připojení a vybereme VPN síť UPOL a kliknete na Připojit. Existuje i druhá varianta, kdy v Centru síťových připojení kliknete na volbu připojit nebo odpojit, kliknete na VPN síť UPOL a zvolíte možnost Připojit.

Krok 12 - Přihlášení do sítě

Objeví se přihlašovací okno, kde byste měli mít své přihlašovací údaje již vyplněné. V případě, že tomu tak nebude, své přihlašovací jméno a heslo znovu nastavte. Pole Doména nechejte volné a poté se Připojte.

Budete-li se chtít po dokončení práce odhlásit, klikněte opět na ikonku bezdrátového připojení na hlavním panelu a vyberte možnost Odpojit.
